ATutor 1.5.4 erschienen

Die eLearning Suite ATutor ist in einer neuen Version 1.5.4 erschienen.
Die Stärke von ATutor, dem neben Moodle wohl verbreitesten Open Source Web-based Learning Content Management System (LCMS), liegt vor allem in der Barrierefreiheit, der Usability und der Ergonomie.

Die wesentlichen Neuerungen:

*Neue Test Frage Typen*: Multiple Antwortmöglichkeiten, Sortierung, Übereinstimmung, und als besonderes Highlight Drag-and-Drop Möglichkeiten. (Sponsored by the Royal Danish Defense College Distance Education Centre)

*QTI 2.1 Test Question Export*: Ein Fragekatalog kann entsprechend den QTI 2.1 Specifikationen exportiert werden. (Sponsored by the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre, University of Toronto)

*Gast Tests*: Falls freigegeben, besteht die Möglichkeit Tests für Gäste anzubieten. (Sponsored by the Fraser Health Authority)

*Gast Zugriff*: Über eine "geheime" URL können Kursleiter Gästen die Möglichkeit zur Teilnahme bieten, ohe, daß diese sich registrieren müssen. (Sponsored by the Fraser Health Authority)

*Forum Korrekturmöglichkeit*: Im Forum besteht nun die Möglichkeit die eigenen Beiträge innerhalb einer Zeitfrist zu korrigieren, um Rechtschreibfehler u.s.w. zu verbessern. (Sponsored by the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine)

ATutor 1.5.4 Beta Released

"ATutor is an Open Source Web-based Learning Content Management System (LCMS) designed with accessibility and adaptability in mind."

The first of a number of pre-release versions of ATutor 1.5.4 is now available for testing and feedback. Two or three more release candidates will come over the next few weeks leading up to the final release of ATutor 1.5.4 mid to late April. These releases will give the ATutor community the opportunity to review the coming release, and make suggestions for improving new features, and to report bugs to the ATutor Support Forums.

*Guest Tests*: If enabled, course guests can now take practice tests. (Sponsored by the Fraser Health Authority)

*Guest Access*: Instructors can now give guest access to their private or protected via a secret URL. (Sponsored by the Fraser Health Authority)

*Forum Post Editing*: Students can now edit their own posts within a specified number of minutes, to correct spelling mistakes etc. (Sponsored by the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine)

*Improved User Administration*: Administrators can now batch manage user accounts, greatly improving management of large ATutor installations. (Sponsored by the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine)

*Saved Sent Messages*: Sent messages are now saved in the sender's Sent Messages area. Messages can now be exported for archiving. (Sponsored by the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine)

*Profile Pictures*: Users can now upload a picture to display with their profile and with forum posts. (Sponsored by the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine)

*Administrator Enrollment Manager*: Course enrolment can now be managed by administrators. (Sponsored by the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre, University of Toronto)

*Inherited Release Dates*: All sub pages in a content unit are now automatically set to the same release date as the parent page, rather than having to set them all manually. (Sponsored by the Special Needs Opportunity Windows: SNOW)

*ATutor Payments*: The first release of the ATutor Payments Module is available. This module allows Instructors, and/or administrators to manage course payments. Access to courses can now be based on payment of fees. Includes a free test account with the MiraPay credit card processing service. (Sponsored by the Special Needs Opportunity Windows: SNOW)

*MERLOT Repository Search*: This module provides simple and advanced search tools for the MERLOT Repository of Educational Resources, which contains more than 16,000 resources on a wide range of topics. Resources listed in the search results can be added directly to course resources. Students, Instructors, and group members can search the repository and save resources to a course or group links database.
